BERYANI RICE

Shan Chicken Jalfrezi Mix gives you the authentic traditional taste of Indian / Chinese Chicken and Vegetable Curry.

Ingredients

  • Chicken/Lamb/Mutton 1 kg whole chicken or large meat portions
  • Rice Parboiled 1 kg 5 tea cups (washed soaked for 30 minutes & drained)
  • Onions2 medium / 200g sliced
  • Cooking Oil 1¼ tea cups / 200ml
  • Hot Water 5 tea cups
  • Plain Yogurt1 tea cup / 200g whipped
  • Shan Beryani Rice Mix 1 Packet

Method

Heat oil. Stir-fry onion till very light golden.

Add meat. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.

Add Shan Beryani Rice Mix and yogurt. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.

Add water, bring to boil then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for: chicken 30 mins, lamb/mutton 45 mins or till meat is tender and soft.

Add rice, bring to boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover tightly (with aluminum foil) and cook for exactly 15 minutes on low heat.

Remove cover, fluff rice. (Note: If the rice is not tender sprinkle half (½) teacup of hot water over it). Cover and cook for 5 minutes or till the rice is tender.

Mix the Beryani and put it in a serving dish and place the cooked meat over it.
